About Us

Counties Radio Control Car Club is New Zealand’s longest established 1/10th electric off-road club. The club is active within the New Zealand racing scene with its fair share of North Island and National title winners coming from within its ranks.
Formed nearly 40 years ago, Counties R/C caters for the Family of off-road racers, with classes from Novice, the weekend racer, or the more serious competitor. Drivers have classes to run in of 2wd buggies and stadium trucks, and 4wd buggies.
Race days are every second Sunday from 10am and races are managed by an AMB computer lap scoring system which collates and sorts individual race laps and times, including average and fastest laps down to 1/100th of a second. The Club provides excellent facilities including Clubrooms, a well maintained clay-based track which is regularly changed, a large drivers stand, mains power and ample parking.
Imported vehicles such as Losi and Associated are state of the art race machines using composite materials, oil filled shocks with adjustable telemetry and gearing. Tyres are of mutiple tread patterns and rubber compounds. These machines are constantly being refined and developed by manufacturers teams from the USA and Japan with the help of factory supported drivers and R&D departments.
The Counties club is affiliated to the NZRCA, the National body for Radio Control Car Racing in New Zealand and membership to the club includes a racing licence which allows the competitor to compete at National and overseas events.
RC Racing is fun for the whole family where younger members are encouraged, and regular members are available to help out with any problems anyone may have with their cars or information about the sport
